Love4Life was honoured to be named a finalist at this year’s Furnley House Foundation Leicestershire Community Champion Awards, joining an inspiring shortlist for Charity of the Year alongside fellow nominees Menphys and Leicester City in the Community. The awards evening brought together organisations, volunteers and community champions whose dedication continues to transform lives across Leicestershire.

Although Love4Life was not selected as Charity of the Year, we feel immense pride and gratitude at being recognised among such outstanding charities. Being surrounded by so many dedicated, passionate people striving to make a difference was truly uplifting and seeing Love4Life valued within that space was a privilege. CEO Louise Adams said, “I could not be prouder of the team and the life-changing work they do every day.”

We extend a massive congratulations to Menphys, led by Robert Martin, for winning Charity of the Year - an incredibly well-deserved achievement.

The evening also brought moments that beautifully captured the spirit of community. Host Ian delivered a deeply emotional tribute to Love4Life, sharing a personal story that moved the entire room. He revealed that the charity had supported his daughter through a particularly challenging period in her mental health, helping her rebuild confidence and stability during her GCSEs. Overcome with emotion, he told the audience that she is now thriving and has been travelling independently across Asia for six months - crediting Love4Life for being instrumental in her journey. His heartfelt words highlighted the profound, often unseen impact that community organisations have on the lives they touch.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who made the event possible: the Furnley House team, its trustees, and the esteemed judging panel: Simon Winfield, Rosemary Conley CBE DL, Rachel Hall, Tom Moore, Stefan Fura, and Vikki Selby. We are grateful to the Furnley House Foundation for its continued commitment to supporting grassroots change through time, volunteering, and financial support.

The night served as a powerful reminder of the passion, resilience, and human stories at the heart of local charities. While Love4Life did not win Charity of the Year, the recognition we received reflects the tremendous, life-changing impact our work continues to have within the community.
